A fine point on it

H. Allen Orr writes Devolution in The New Yorker:
Biologists aren’t alarmed by intelligent design’s arrival in Dover and elsewhere because they have all sworn allegiance to atheistic materialism; they’re alarmed because intelligent design is junk science.

Orr explains what so few people realize, IDC is a pile of fancy talk without substance behind it. This is probably the finest single piece of mainstream journalism on IDC I've seen. He understands the issues and is prepared to really whale on the inconsistencies of the movement.
