I guess iTunes is in a slow, indie sort of mood.
The filibuster countdown has begun. The nuclear option will be deployed on Tuesday. Some Senators are working on a compromise, but it's so piss-poor that I'd rather see it fail. Apparently it would allow Judges Owen and Rodgers Brown to pass, along with three of the others, and in exchange, the Republicans promise not to take away the filibuster next time.
If 214 years of tradition aren't enough for them to leave the filibuster alone, a handshake over two judges won't save the filibuster when a Supreme Court seat opens up. The Republicans no longer have the credibility to get a deal where we give up something now in exchange for a future right. I don't trust them, and I can't understand why any Democratic senators would trust them either.
