Wichita Eagle | 07/12/2005 | Standards may change more today
The State Board of Education will consider more changes to science standards today to add more criticisms of evolution.
Nearly everything that evolution critics have suggested is already included in the draft of proposed standards the board will review for a second time at its meeting today.
The board's six conservatives want to make sure their new standards can be defended, and at least one board member, Connie Morris of St. Francis, has said she wants to add many more criticisms of evolution.
She also probably wants to offer catechism classes, but that's beside the point. They've already butchered the carefully written standards developed by experts in science education. How much more damage do they need to do?
