Somewhere along the line, I saw that no American TV reporters have done a story from Darfur in years. There's no serious coverage of the refugee camps in Chad. There's a genocide going on right now, victims are sitting and waiting for the African Union, NATO, the UN, and the EU to get some sort of peacekeeping force together.
Somehow, CNN and everyone else can get cameras into Niger, but they can't get them into Darfur. I honestly don't understand why.
Is it because a famine is no one's fault, but covering genocide means assigning blame? How sad would it be if the networks were afraid of losing their access to the Sudanese leadership.
