About those buses

Kevin Drum finds this in the Baton Rouge Advocate:
On the day of the storm, or perhaps the day after, FEMA turned down the state's suggestion to use school buses because they are not air conditioned, Blanco said Friday in an interview.
Interesting. Our friend Brownie promised 500 buses, which didn't show up.

In other news, there's a bill in Congress to reinstate Davis-Bacon, a law that – had Bush not suspended it – would guarantee that federal contractors would have to pay prevailing wages in No Man's Land.

Here's the list of co-sponsors. I don't see any of our Kansas Congressmen, so let's hit the phones tomorrow.
