Matt Cooper on Good Morning America

Time Reporter Says He Learned Agent's Identity From Rove:
"There is no question. I first learned about Valerie Plame working at the CIA from Karl Rove," Cooper said.
While Today was explaining that the President nominated Attila the Hun, GMA was revealing that Karl Rove is either practicing his perp walk smile or he's cut a deal.

And then we come back to a question that hasn't been clearly addressed. Why should anyone as close to the President as Karl Rove is be afraid of getting convicted? If history teaches us nothing, these scandals lead to pardons. And if anyone in Bush II's administration is in a place to call in a favor, it's Karl Rove.

So why should he cut a deal? Why should he talk about anything? Presumably, that's why Libby told his lies to the grand jury. We know Rove talked to Fitzgerald in the last day before indictments hit, and that seemed to buy him some breathing room. We don't know what he said, but we do know that he gave something new, and that's what kept him off of TV screens last Friday.

There's a mystery here.
