Bad headlines

From the Wichita Eagle, Mays regrets profane comment about lawyer. This is a follow-up on his comment yesterday that school funding advocate "Alan Rupe can shove it up his ass. You can quote me on that.” The Eagle reports:
Speaking later to reporters, he said he shouldn't have used that word.

"My wife has sufficiently scolded me," he said.

He also noted that "if I were still running for governor, I for sure wouldn't have said that."
Is the problem that he used the "a-word"? Or that this is what he considers this the best way to resolve his differences over school funding?

Because he only apologized for the word.
