Virtually the entire commercial supply these days is produced by genetically modified e-coli bacteria that contain humanAnd there's a lot of optimism that embryonic stem cell research might hold a cure or treatment for diabetes. Too bad the President forbade American researchers from doing anything useful in that field. Senator Brownback hasn't been helping, either.
