Summers out

Larry Summers, embattled president of Hahvahd University has resigned. This follows a vote of no-confidence last March, but more immediately follows a sense that he forced out the chair of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. To ascribe this all to his ill-considered remarks on women in academia would be false. He was a poor administrator and rubbed too many people the wrong way. Rather than replacing the entire faculty, the Board at Hahvahd chose to replace Summers.

He'll stay on as a professor.
