Your Republican culture of corruption

Taff gets 15-month prison term:
A federal judge sentenced former congressional candidate Adam Taff today to 15 months in prison for wire fraud and misusing campaign funds.

U.S. District Court Judge John W. Lungstrum also sentenced John D. Myers to 5 months and a $50,000 fine for his role in the mortgage-fraud case.
Taff ran for Congress twice, and would probably be a contender again but for this. He ran a tight race 4 years ago, and might have won two years ago. If so, his name would be as well known as Duke Cunningham's.

Taff used campaign funds as collateral for a loan on a home he couldn't afford. There's something allegorical about that. Dennis Moore, like the Democratic Party, is fighting to cut deficits, while Taff, and the Republican Party, are spending money they don't have and taking it from their supporters.
