A good question

Talking Points Memo quotes a reader asking, if everything in Iraq is as great as Fox News and the White House say:
Why can't Britt Hume, Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly etc. go over there and report all the good news from Baghdad for a few months or a year?
We all know the answer, but it's worth pointing out that smart people realize that reporters in Iraq can't hear all that unreported good news over the explosions, through the shouting, or when the government declares a daytime curfew.

Frustrating as the far right finds that, it's where we are.

Of course, I'd love it if the local news here in the heartland covered more school paintings and fewer murders, but the fact is that schools being painted isn't news, while people killing each other is. When I'm ruler of the world, we'll change that. Meantime, deal with it.
