There's nothing like waking up to tornado sirens. A tornado formed around Lawrence, and gusts of up to 70 miles per hour were detected around town. There's damage from downed branches all over, powerlines are down, campus is closed while safety officers survey the damage. Lawrence PD is asking people to sit tight while the power company clears up downed power lines.

Meanwhile, The University Daily Kansan reports:
As of right now, the area around campus and the campus itself it without power, but Westar Energy officials do expect power to return soon. The Kansan is working to identify locations where Kansas fans can watch the Kansas-Texas basketball game in the event power is not restored by 2 p.m.
So all's right with the world.
