Science, Education and the Public
On April 4, Krauss, a physics professor at Case Western and author of many books, including Hiding in the Mirror : The Mysterious Allure of Extra Dimensions, from Plato to String Theory and Beyond, will address Science Under Attack, from the White House to the Classroom: Public Policy, Science Education, and the Emperor's New Clothes.
On April 19, Barbara Forrest, history and philosophy professor and author of Creationism's Trojan Horse: The Wedge of Intelligent Design – widely considered the definitive history of the ID movement – will speak on The Naturalism of Science: The Only Way that Works.
May 3 brings Dr. Schopf, a geologist from UCLA, to discuss The Earliest History of Life: Solution to Darwin's Dilemma.
KU's own Dr. Heppert, of the Chemistry Department, will help us in Understanding 'alternatives' to Evolution.
