Drinking Liberally

Nancy Boyda, candidate for the House of Representatives, will be joining the gang at Drinking Liberally tomorrow (Tuesday, May 9) at Free State in Lawrence. She should arrive around 8:30-9, but the drinking will start around 8.

Those with too little to do on a Tuesday evening should also plan on attending Joe Heppert's talk, the final one in the series on Science, Education, and the Public at the Dole Center. Dr. Heppert, a professor at KU, will be talking about "Understanding Alternatives to Evolution," with a focus on the new standards approved by conservatives on the Board of Education. The talk is at the Dole Center at 7:30.

There will be two Take Back Kansas rallies in two weeks. The first will be on the 16th at 7:00 in the Olathe Grace United Methodist Church located at 11485 Ridgeview in Olathe. On the 18th at 7, the meeting will be at the Hutchinson Community College, located at 1300 N. Plum in Hutchinson.

And we all missed creationist Mike Riddle's unconstitutional presentation at a Missouri high school.
